We have a shared RACF database (3 VM systems running RACF 5.3 & a number of MVS systems).
Recently the z/OS systems upgraded to 1.7 and they found a discrepancy in the database (that may have been there for ages) but that 1.4 did not report. It seems that there was an index entry pointing to a VMBATCH resource that did not exist. For now, we are OK because we have redefined both the user and the resource so z/OS 1.7 is happy - even though there are 2 index entries for the same resource. What I don't understand is how we could have got into this situation. Our security admin people normally manage VMBATCH resources from VM - but could have done something on z/OS. Because we have no idea when this occurred (or what happened) it is very difficult to follow this up. If we could recreate it (on the Test System) then we would have something to work with. Does anyone have any ideas? Colin Allinson Amadeus Data Processing IMPORTANT - CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE - This e-mail is intended only for the use of the individual or entity shown above as addressees.
