Here is something that is not worthy of being a formal requirement, but it can make life a little easier, AND it should be relatively easy to do..
The QUERY CHPID nn command responds with a detailed list of the devices that are on the CHPID and tells whether the path is online or offline to them. It does not tell whether the CHPID, itself, is online or offline. Adding a one-liner at the top or bottom of the response would keep people from scratching their heads and wondering about the status of the CHPID until they realize that they need another command, QUERY CHPIDS, to make the determination. The display from QUERY CHPIDS is nice, but it is more intuitive to query the CHPID that is of interest. It is also less likely to be misread by aging eyes if it is spelled out in response to the command. Regards, Richard Schuh
