Richard--You're probably right, but you need to think of the future of
"old timers like us". We are going to be retiring in a few years ('08
for me) and if the new kids can't figure something out such as that,
they may call us for fat contracting fees to come in and enter a command
or two. So thank you Alan and Chuckie for adding some $$$$ to our
retirement. Remember, you'll be retired sometimes yourselves.

Here is something that is not worthy of being a formal requirement, but
it can make life a little easier, AND it should be relatively easy to
do..
The QUERY CHPID nn command responds with a detailed list of the devices
that are on the CHPID and tells whether the path is online or offline to
them. It does not tell whether the CHPID, itself, is online or offline.
Adding a one-liner at the top or bottom of the response would keep
people from scratching their heads and wondering about the status of the
CHPID until they realize that they need another command, QUERY CHPIDS,
to make the determination. The display from QUERY CHPIDS is nice, but it
is more intuitive to query the CHPID that is of interest. It is also
less likely to be misread by aging eyes if it is spelled out in response
to the command.=20
