Ann,

For you and all the others new to z/VM (and us old-timer's, too!), this
list's members are not only an outstanding resource, but the list itself
is an historical archive. That archive can be searched for previous
answers to the same question.

The question of dynamic addition of page and SPOOL volumes comes up fairly
often. Some of the answers in the past have been quite extensive,
explaining all the issues and steps in great detail. (The question comes
up often enough that one would expect that the process of adding CP_OWNED
DASD would be succinctly documented with good examples right in the z/VM
Planning and Administration manual - perhaps taking some of the examples
from this "real-life" list).

Please consider taking a few minutes to use the online IBMVM archive
search features.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The online IBMVM archive search page can be found at--->
http://listserv.uark.edu/archives/ibmvm.html
IMHO, it should be bookmarked in the "Favorites" folder of every z/VM'ers
browser.

Once you have searched the online archive (as opposed to some lists which
only permit e-mail search requests), you may find that the next question
you have has already been thoroughly answered and you won't even have to
wait for a reply. And... the answer may provide guidance you may not have
thought to ask for! It's pretty intuitive and easy to use.

Respectfully,
