I sent an offlist note to Martha last night suggesting MQ. Our z/VM 5.1 system has code running to support an MQ application which permitted Windows PCs to submit batch jobs to that VM system. Unfortunately, that application was cancelled after we devised the support. Checking just moments ago, the server is still up and running - since no one asked for it to be deleted, it doesn't use measurable resources, and proves that MQ is still viable on CMS (even if rather outdated).
