Maybe because presenting basically flat content in such a tree-shaped presentation is not always a real improvement. Sometimes the page-based presentation is attractive. It allows for the scanning of a page that we seem to do without realizing it. I also notice that a lot of the "new content" has this filler paragraphs that add no value but try to compensate for the small view that you have on the document. I have some hope Docbook would fit the bill, but not been able to put enough energy in to demonstrate that it does. Like Bookie it allows you to separate content and layout and thus not challenge the writer to fiddle with layout. Rob
