Understanding the parameters that allow for generic changes of the layout is still easy. But writing your own macro's for different content items or for a different layout requires good understanding of the DCF language. To provide the rich vocabulary of bookie would require some work in docbook. And I have not seen a formatting document that produces output as elegant as bookie did. Rob
