Jim,

This looks familiar. What version of z/VM are you running?  It might be
something that was used in an older release, and is no longer needed.

This message is in our SSLSERV start up console log and its not in the
manual:

MSG FROM TCPIP   : Restarting you because you have no passive open on
TCP port 9999

 

The following line is present in the TCPIP TCPIP file used to startup
the TCPIP service machine and is in the port reservation section:

  9999 TCP SSLSERV             ; SSL Server - Administration

 

I didn't set this stuff up and I cannot locate anything saying the
SSLSERV service machine needs an admin port defined.

 

Can I remove it without breaking something else?
