You do always have to check. Just because something has not changed in a long 
time does not mean that it will never change.

Fair enough! It seemed to me as though the discussion had turned to more of a 
concern over the amount of time needed to rework exits each time service or a 
new release came out. Since there have not been changes made since VM/ESA 
2.2.0, I was curious as to why the perception existed that there was a strong 
need to constantly rework user updates. If there is real function missing, then 
by all means, continue the discussion.

As I recall, this discussion started out as a thought that it would be nice to 
have exits in SYSPROF so that we do not have to create our own or otherwise 
modify SYSPROF. Just the fact that many of us do insert and use exits might be 
interpreted as our thinking that SYSPROF perhaps should have been enhanced over 
the years.
