DIRMAINT also uses a SHUTDOWN ..    DIRM SHUTDOWN or just SHUTDOWN if logged
in to the DIRMAINT USER.

SHUTDOWN SYSTEM system    in z/VM 5.4 will help a lot with the 'oh no...'
moments for new sysprogs, though..
