z/VM 5.4 is running fine for us on a bunch of z10s. We do have current maintenance on (we're rsu 1001).
There is this one https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=580839 for Redhat which is z10 specific (there's a SuSE equiv too).
