CPFMTXA is an IBM provided front-end for ICKDSF. There has been a statement 
posted on this list that support for CPFMTXA will be dropped in the fairly near 
future. I don't know whether that means that IBM is going to replace ICKDSF or 
that they just want to get out of the CPFMTXA business. 

As for the commands, you could use FORMAT RANGE(0,END) 
TYPE((0,0,PERM)(1,END,PAGE)) parameters instead of using two format commands.
