While it may work for a time, there are conditions which will cause it to fail. If it fails, what do you do then? You are in a totally unsupported configuration (don't forget that z/OS 1.4 itself is LONG out of service). Your system may be down hard until you can get a supported z/OS release installed. There is code for z/OS to support the z10 (and I don't just mean EREP and IOCP). You are taking a BIG risk in running operating systems which are not supported on a given processor. I investigated this in great detail for a customer of mine last year and the risk of a failure is just to great for a production environment. Jim
