Issue 171: ibus-qt conflicts with gtk applications
http://code.google.com/p/ibus/issues/detail?id=171
New issue report by zhoujingmiller:
This could be reproduced on a Fedora 9 with ibus-
dbus-1.2.4-1.fc9.i386, dbus-python-0.83.0-2.fc9.i386,
gtk2-2.12.12-1.fc9.i386, qt-4.4.3-1.fc9.i386 and qt3-3.3.8b-14.fc9.i386
installed under the following instructions:
1. in a console type the following
>su
>yum install ibus*
>exit
2. start ibus with im-chooser (fedora specific) or just add the following:
>export GTK_IM_MODULE=ibus
>export [EMAIL PROTECTED]
>export QT_IM_MODULE=ibus
to ~/.bashrc, then log out, and log in again.
3. start any gtk application, say pidgin. We could expect there is text for
the application available for a decent amount of time. However, within a
short amount of time, the text r gone, or simply freezes, and the entire
application freezes. In some cases the entire desktop freezes (except
mouth) as well.
I am using kde 4.1.2 with kdm as display manager, which might have
something to do with this issue.
