Comment #5 on issue 737 by marwell.1980: Custom font doesn't seem to work
http://code.google.com/p/ibus/issues/detail?id=737
10 hours later... ok. Some little more informations:
First I updated ibus/ibus-gtk to 1.3.8 and ibus-pinyin to 1.3.11 (and some
more from phuang1~lucid1 ppa)- didn't help
I set up a fresh fedora system instead of kubuntu, just to test it. And -
it worked! I found the config file and got back to my kubuntu.
I found out, there is the same config file changed by preferences dialog
but not used by ibus afterwards. Why? There are 2 ways to get it running:
1)
I had "qtcurve" as kde theme installed. Using KDE4 I want to use the same
design with the installed gtk applications. Ibus doesn't work with that
combination! Changing to 'plastique" for example and giving gtk-apps
kde's "raleigh" theme, it works! Only problem is, that the gtk-apps are
really ugggggly this way and difficult to read. So bad, that I switched
back, still having the problem with the small font in ibus.
2)
Otherwise keeping the "qtcurve" themes for kde and gtk-apps, its working
this way:
If I change the kde fonts to the font I wish to see in ibus (but again, it
overrides the ibus preferences and all applications use that bigger, asian
font... Nothing good, if you are working on a western system but using ibus
only for input reasons, here pinyin).
There must be a solution somewhere. I think something, like forcing ibus to
use the wished font and font size. Anybody any idea, how to go in this
direction?
