Python version: 2.7.5
dbus version: 1.6.12
dbus-python version: 1.2.0
gtk version (if bug is about gtk applications): 2.24.20 and 3.8.2
qt version (if bug is about qt applications):
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. change 'input source' via gnome 3.8
2. try to input Chinese
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
should be able to input Chinese. But it is still English.
Please provide any additional information below.
I installed ibus 1.5.2 from Debian experimental. Then I installed
ibus-pinyin 1.5.0 from source. I checked the "region & language settings"
but found only one "Chinese" as the input source; ibus-pinyin is not shown.
I manually added ibus-pinyin in dconf:
$ dconf read /org/gnome/desktop/input-sources/sources
[('xkb', 'us'), ('ibus', 'pinyin')]
Then I change 'input source' via the top gnome panel from "en" to "Chinese
(Pinyin)". Unfortunately, ibus-pinyin is not activated. From ps command,
I can see ibus-pinyin-engine is not started.
However, if I use command "ibus engine pinyin", the Chinese input method
can be activated. But it will be always activated even I change 'input
source' again to "en".
It looks like gnome-setting-daemon has no control to enable/disable
ibus-pinyin-engine.
Any suggestions?
