You contradicted yourself there - proprietary Java hasn't been in the repos for a while due to Oracle.

So you're using openjdk, thats one requirement, but its possible a Radeon card with the libre driver is also needed - I'm thinking its partly a speed issue - Java 2D graphics being too slow to render something.

I have attached an example mindmap - all I need to do is select node 'one' or 'two', press and hold Cntrl+Up for a bit, then Cntrl+Down for a bit, (all under 10 seconds), wait for the moves to process, and then find that keystrokes are ignored. Restarting ibus solves the issue.
