When I put Stars & Stripes in the water last weekend, I noticed that the base of the lift can (Aqualift) was wet. Looks like I might be in for a replacement. Could not find such a beast on Catalina Direct. Anyone have a recommendation for a replacement?
Stars & Stripes (hull no 6354) is a 1987, std rig, wheel steering, with a Universal M-18 diesel. On another note, I repacked the stuffing box with GFO (goretex) per the recommendation of Jon Prestage (1858). Seems to be working well. I started out trying to use ¼ in but found it impossible to fit into the box. Then I switched to 3/16ths which slid in almost too easily. Im probably just being a Nervous Nellie here, but can anyone confirm the correct size? Ray Yager Stars & Stripes Littleton, CO #6354
