I would suggest finding the source of water under your waterlift. Could be the drain plug loose. I think mine is OEM, but looks very similar to this. Waterlock LP. http://www.fisheriessupply.com/online/search.asp/Ntt/vetus/No/0/N/13809/Ne/8000/catalog_name/FISCO/mode/1/Ntx/mode+matchpartial+rel+Inactive/Ntk/All Oddly enough, yesterday I changed out my stuffing box with GFO. It is 3/16in using 3 rings. http://www..catalina27.org/images/C270pack.jpg Don, #6293, Niceville, FL

Looks like I might be in for a replacement. Could not find such a beast on Catalina Direct. Anyone have a recommendation for a replacement? Stars & Stripes (hull no 6354) is a 1987, std rig, wheel steering, with a Universal M-18 diesel. On another note, I repacked the stuffing box with GFO (goretex) per the recommendation of Jon Prestage (1858). Seems to be working well. I started out trying to use ¼ in but found it impossible to fit into the “box”. Then I switched to 3/16ths which slid in almost too easily. I’m probably just being a Nervous Nellie here, but can anyone confirm the correct size? Ray Yager Stars & Stripes Littleton, CO #6354
