Thanks for replying. I believe you're right. It's just a piezoelectric disc 
with electrodes attached. No electronics. Resistance should be similar on all 
of them. The other characteristic is probably volume of a crystal (more power 
needed for larger pucks). I'll get a digital gauge and experiment...

You're right, wooden plate is for reinforcement.
