I had posted a month ago the instructions that Catalina publishes for
addressing rudder issues. I think they are more geared toward a c30. I ended up
doing the epoxy fix & applying epoxy around the base of the shaft where it
enters the rudder. Hopefully this should take care of any water issues.

I will go ahead and add those fix to the files section.

Hi Steve

I have had similar problems with my old rudder that I had to replace. I do not
know were you live but if it goes below freezing in the winter that water
inside your rudder will also freeze and cause cracks to from internally this
may allow water to reach the plate that is welded to your stainless steal
rudder post inside. This can cause the plate to let go and you will have play
in your rudder. I have pictures of the inside of my old rudder showing the
results .

Onat:

It has been on the hard since October. It must have been weeping since warm
weather. What is involved?

Thanks!

Steve
