Hi All

Here are the dimensions and a picture of the A-frame design. I used it and it
worked great, with one exception... I bought the 2by4s at Home depot and one
had a knot in the middle of it, yup it snapped and the mast landed on my wife's
hand. Fortunately the mast was fine. I still don't understand what the bride
was so upset about, the doctor reset her finger and you can barely see the
scare "women - go figure". Anyway, the moral of that story is, don't go cheap
on your materials, buy the good 2by4s and you'll do just fine.

GOOD LUCK,

Subject: RE: [IC27A] stepping a mast

I have a standard rig catalina 27 with a hinged base. I have seen others use
the boom to raise the mast, but have seen references to an A-frame. Can anyone
provide dimensions or pictures or advice?
