Rather hard to answer without knowing your definition of slack.  If you mean 
swinging in the breeze then yes could be a little to loose.  What do you have 
with 8 - 10 knts?  They sould be "tight" at that wind level according to 
everything I have read.  What method do You use for tightening your schrouds?  
Not being tight enough has been a concern of mine, but I have not had the time 
to do the 2 meter measuring approach described by Calder and others.
