I keep Barjoh at Hilltop Marina, owners Don and Bobbi Fiedler, 1802 Hilltop
Ave., Balt, MD, 410/780-3773. I paid $1350 for a slip in 2009. Probably
will go up to $1400 in 2010. Slips are available. Maryland Marina is the
full service marina where I keep Barjoh during the winter. It is a nice
marina but the cost is probably double Hilltop. Also slips are smaller.
During the weekends a lot of owners stay on their boats during the weekends.
A lot of social activity. You can check your marine chart and check out
the other listed marinas. There are a few others from which to choose.
Suggest you may wish to visit our Fleet 19 (Catalina 27 )web site,
_www.catalina27fleet19.com_ (http://www.catalina27fleet19.com) I know, it
needs to
be updated!!! You may wish to join Fleet 19. The price is right. Our
members have a lot of experience which they will gladly share with you. If
you
would like to "chat" offline give me a call, 410/992-0651.

I appreciate any advice on marinas - I am looking for a quiet marina, no
frills but most importantly easy to get in an out for a novice sailor.

New foam and covers cost $1600. The cushions are a good quality. If you

are interested in the Middle River area, I can recommend several depending

on what you want and the price willing to pay. Barjoh is slipped at a

private marina consisting of about 25 slips on Hopkins Creek. I have been

there for seven years. It is not a full service marina, but quiet and a
good

hurricane hole. On shore it offers a bathroom without a shower. The price

is reflective of what is offered. During the winter I keep Barjoh on the

hard at another nearby full service marina.

Right now the boat is in Mayo but we are researching marinas in the middle

river area. Dare I ask how much the cushions were?

Where are you in the DC area? I have an 83 and it is located in Middle

River, MD. I had cushions made by Catalina and a little costly. Have no

idea where you can get a hatch made.

We just bought a 1982 and we are starting our list of things to do to her.

My first ( I am sure of many to come ) concern is the hatch. It has a leak

and we need to replace it. Any ideas who would be the best place to get

one? Also, we live in the DC metro area and I want to get new cushions

made.

Any suggestions without breaking the bank?

Thanks!

Vicki
