The cost of a launch-able trailer is $5-$8,000 - plus I need a vehicle to pull it.
I have until spring to make a final decision on it - so we'll see. It is not that bad to pull out on a ramp and the A frame method for taking the mast up and down isn't so bad either. >>> "Brian Sullivan" <brian_sullivan@ sbcglobal. net> 11/10/2009 8:04 PM >>> Sorry to see you leaving Lake St. Clair Derek Brian -- Sent from my Palm Prē Derek Atkin wrote: I am in the process of relocating from Michigan where my c27 is on Lake St. Clair to Nashville Teneesee where I have access to Lake Percy Priest. On a trip down there - I checked out a few marinas and there are some big boats, including a few C27s. The only issue is there are no travel lifts at any of the marinas - so one needs to get a crane in to put the boat in the water at $700 a pop. So with travel expenses its going to be close to $3,000 to get the C27 down there and anytime it needs to come out of the water another $700. The relocation company might pick up part of the tab - but it seems like a lot of hassle - and keeping the boat in the water for extended periods of time is going to require some serious bottom paint and lots of diligence to keep it clean. Its a shame only having had the boat for a year - but I am really not sure there are other options. Thoughts ?
