Derek,
I'm in Louisville, KY. I have a trailer and we launch and retrieve it on a ramp. Requires a long extension but it works smoothly. The other C27's as well as some other keel boat are on cradles and the yard launches and retrieves them on the ramp on a cradle. There is no travel lift here in Louisville. On a trip down there - I checked out a few marinas and there are some big boats, including a few C27s. The only issue is there are no travel lifts at any of the marinas - so one needs to get a crane in to put the boat in the water at $700 a pop. So with travel expenses its going to be close to $3,000 to get the C27 down there and anytime it needs to come out of the water another $700. The relocation company might pick up part of the tab - but it seems like a lot of hassle - and keeping the boat in the water for extended periods of time is going to require some serious bottom paint and lots of diligence to keep it clean. Its a shame only having had the boat for a year - but I am really not sure there are other options. Thoughts ? Derek.A. #4297 [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
