I got everything off by the companionway slides. Most of it just comes off with screws, and needs a little sealant to re-bed back into the boat. This Penofin is much easier to work with, looks hand rubbbed when dry and protects the wood just as well. I bought a gallon for $46 at a local paint store and have used maybe 1/8 of it on the boat so far.
