Hello, I'm also new to the world of Catalina 27s. I bought "Catavinos",a 1977 dinette, galley aft model, in early December and, a few weeks ago with my the help of my dad, brought it down from Friday Harbor (San Juan Island) to its new moorage in Tacoma.
I sailed a lot as a kid, but generally only had my hand on the tiller of the various small boats we had over the years--an el toro that my dad built, a banshee, and a lightning--and was relegated to "crew" on the Coronado 27 we shared with another family. I am quickly discovering that I have much to learn about sailing, piloting and fixing bent stainless steel. I look forward to availing myself of the collective wisdom of the group (eg, has anyone come up with a good way to make that starboard aft berth more accessible?). Matt Warning
