In 2003 after purchasing my boat I noticed the strap was cracked where it was bolted to the rudder head. I had the strap repaired with a so-so welding job. Not satisfied with the integrity of the repaired strap I had a strap fabricated out of stainless by a company in Baltimore. They did an excellent job. The fit on the tiller head is tight enough that friction holds the tiller in any position. I have the old repaired strap if anyone wants it and willing to pay the shipping cost. John Jennings

Catalina Direct sells a replacement for the C30 that includes a space for the narrower C27 rudder. Unfortunately you'll also need to buy a new C30 tiller or create shims for your C27 tiller. One's a relatively easy fix, the other.not so much. It is like clean cut, on both sides, tiler was just hanging lose on the elastic cord I used to connect it to. There are no marks on the tiler (or even the tiler cover) so I have absolutly no clue how it would have happen. Any ideas? Also, anybody has a spare part willing to sell? Any idea when I could purchase it? I know that snow is still here but I feel Spring in the air...As always appreciate you help.
