The saga continues

The yamaha 9.9 is a confirmed no fit from a conversation with yamaha
about the dimensions.

So we went on the mission of finding a used Honda 100 based on another
posters assertion that it fit fine in his unmodified Catalina 27
lazarette complete with pictures of the motor on his boat (from outside
the boat). After a bit of a search we finally found a CDI version,
confirmed it ran well, and bought it. Brought it down to the boat and
guess what, IT DIDN'T FIT! The motor cover didn't clear the top of the
opening by about an inch. I compared the drawings I received from
Catalina against the dimensions of our boat and they match so we do have
a stock configuration.

There may be some modifications we can do to the Honda 100 to make it
fit but unfortunately we are not at a solution at this point.
