Ralph, If I understand the diagram, the alternator (and probably the starter) would have a constant 12 volts applied from the engine start battery. Although very rare, alternators and starters have been known to short out. and may require some time to disconnect the wire at the battery. IMHO Don, #6293, Niceville, FL

I placed mine next to the Starboard engine hatch. It's pretty handy when one has to BLEED the fuel line. I have to after each Filter change.. I don't see the starter, but am assuming it connects between the alternator and the isolator. If that is so, I would add a switch on that wire to disconnect all power to the engine.
