thanks to all of you for chiming in on this subject. i now feel that my engine 
is most likely just fine and lovely. many of you have stated the hours 
accumulated on your engines of varying ages and i wanted to get an opinion on 
the hours of mine. according to the hour meter it's in the 4000hr range. which 
sounds like a ton compared to those of you with '84 M-18s as well. what can i
