DO NOT LEAVE GEAR IN FORWARD WHEN SAILING. GEAR MUST BE IN NEUTRAL FOR FREE

Somewhere i remember reading that's its a bad idea to have the tranny in
neutral and the prop spinning under sail. If my recollection serves me, it
should be locked in reverse during sailing is that correct?

Alon,
In regards to a HURTH transmission.... See:
http://www.marinedieseldirect.com/universal/200157/universal-owners-hurth-transmission.html
At the bottom of the page please note:
"....CAUTION: TRANSMISSION MUST BE LEFT IN NEUTRAL WHEN SAILING, DO NOT LEAVE
IN FORWARD GEAR WHEN SAILING WITHOUT POWER AS IT WILL DAMAGE GEAR...."
