I would be very surprised if it was a 24 volt system. This would have
to have been a modification, and it doesn't make much sense.
Check how many batteries you have. Are they standard 12-volt batteries
(the voltage and amperage should be printed on the battery)
If there are 2 12-volt are they wired in parallel or in series? (if
the negative, usually black, wires off the battery are connected to
each other and to a common ground then you are parallel and 12-volt)
