All hasps on Catalina boats are designed to keep only the honest people
out.
I don't care how big or bad a lock you put on them. The hasps on the
companionway and lockers are pitiful.

I have a four number combination lock, think it may be a Abus but could be
a Master I’m not sure. The shackle on the lock was too big to go through
the hasp so I drilled it out figuring the hasp was either chrome plated
bronze or stainless. It turned out to be bronze and after eight tears you
can’t tell I did anything to it.

Does anyone know where I can find a lock for the companionway? I've tried
some exterior grade master locks but the loops are too thick for the
padlock hasp. The lock I have now works OK but there is only one key and
my locksmith hasn't had luck copying it.

Thanks,
