I got long arms so don't feel it is a problem where the batteries are located 
in the port cockpit locker. I have recently spent some time hanging out in this 
locker (Bilge hose replacement) and the stern locker (fuel fill hose) which was 
real tight. The only place I could think to place them somewhere else would be 
amidships under the port or starboard berths.
