Art,
I believe you'll find the way it works is the rear mounts will center the shaft in the log and the front mounts align the engine to the shaft. There should be only one coupling, right behind the transmission. http://www.crystalviewphoto.com/IC27A%20Web/images/shaftlog.jpg Phil Agur <http://www.catalina27.org/public_pages/profile270.htm> s/v Wing Tip C270 LE #184 MMSI 366901790 From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of sfclinger Sent: Wednesday, June 02, 2010 10:46 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [IC27A] Prop shaft alignment The "prop shaft and log alignment procedure" diagram says to make sure the prop shaft is centered in the shaft log. It also states it's important to make sure the shaft coupling and engine coupling are aligned to .003 t.l.r. after centering the shaft in the log. I assume the shaft coupling and engine coupling are closest to the engine? Is there an easy way to tell which engine mount needs to be adjusted if I find the shaft out of alignment? Thanks Art
