I am glad I was able to assist, even if in a small way. The Catalina 27/Jaguar 27 is a great boat that is separated by a small ocean and a common language ;-) Also, I remember that picture as a great look at the bottom of the C27/J27 that we don’t see very often here. I saved it because it was so different. I had joined the UK Jaguar group when I was looking at Catalina 27s several years ago, figuring that the Britts have a long sailing tradition and a different look at the same boat might be valuable. I haven’t contributed much there but I still read it all the time. Good luck with your cruise and do post some images for us to see.

It's a sea going nation, you can tell from their experience. Their best advice however was to avoid falling dry in the first place and go for a visitor's mooring. If no other option, drying out preferably against a fixed construction, like a harbour wall. I'm planning a 10 day trip in the English Channel (the French call it equally theirs) an North Sea, don't know yet wether I'll end up in France, UK or the Netherlands (they're all within a 50 mile distance, nothing like the distances you guys seem to be talking about), that will depend on the weather and circumstances. I'll definitely post a picture, and who knows, one of a J27 proudly taking the 'glorious mud', as the Brits insist on naming their uncovered national waters ...
