Thanks David, I think that the Norcold is the way to go. You say you have
had it in service since 1985??

I installed a Norcold refrigerator on Sovereignty in 1985. I protected
its diodes with a computer strip surge protector. Said device sent voltage
to the second, third, and fourth outlets when the primary outlet was turned
on. I.E. when the refrigerator turned on and sensed 120 volt power voltage
was available, it turned on the second, third and fourth outlets  (to wit;
I had plugged in a 120 Volt computer fan which circulated air across the
back of the refrigerator and kept the diodes cool).

I have since converted the ice chest to a freezer with its own compressor.

Frig is 47*...freezer is 21*.

Does any one know of a good small refrigerator that runs on 110 v and 12
v. I have looked at some thermo electric coolers but is recommended that you
don't run them all of the time.
