Probably not a good idea. Love to hear if anyone has done it. You might want to take a several day sail down to Santa Cruz and Monterey, around the Farallons, and up to Bodega bay first to get an idea of what you are facing. Much rather go the opposite way. Gentlemen always sail to leeward...

Without going into how you would need to beef up the boat and add safety equipment, or the lack of any good harbors, to get a hint of what you might face in good weather read this.
