Hey Clyde, Sure, we could put together a Fleet Discount for C30's. Or if you wanted to order some sails along with the C27 fleet program, that would work too. We save a bundle by consolidating the shipping for a dozen sails or so.
Hyde can do tsuper-duper prices on the tri-radial cruising laminate genoas, and the kevlar/aramid race sails, but we can't do dacron cruising sails right now. I talked to the sailmaker/designer. We don't have the right dacron for a C30 fleet program right now . It's not just "weight", it's about high-aspect vs low-aspect vs. balanced aspect cloth for mains vs genoas. That's what gives you shape holding when you stress the sail in high winds, and the right dernier and thread count in the warp and fill for UV durability and abrasion resistance. We have the cloth to make dacron cruising sails for a C30, but we'd have to use "over-qualified" cloth which costs more. That's why Hyde USA hasn't offered mainsails and 100% jibs to the C27 Fleet yet -- they're waiting for the sourcing. Hyde USA won't build sails with the wrong cloth, (unlike some other un-named sail lofts who use the same cloth for every sail they build.) So we're waiting on the cloth source. We could start planning it now. Which sails do C30 owners? I would guess something similar to what I've put together for the c27 folks. A cruising dacron sail, a cruising laminate sail, and a kevlar race race sail. If you're really interested, I'll get the sailmaker's recommendations on which cloth to use for what, and I'll generate some price quotations for you. Let me send you the complete info packet for the C27 Fleet Program, so you can see what Hyde USA is aiming at and how it all works. [Disclosure: I have a new job working for Hyde USA as of a couple of weeks ago. I have a financial interest in selling sails.
