I crewed on Luscious last winter.  Bo has a 100hp engine in that thing.  I did
check out your webside quickly a couple of weeks ago.  I shall consult it again
in respect to Walker Island.  No current would be nice.  I guess I'll consult a
tide chart as well.

Thanks, Ralph

Mark,

Very cool,  Yep the river's at below Zero Datum at times. Even  "Luscious" went
aground ! And in front of the Portland Yacht Club..
I'll bet BO had to buy everyone a drink..... LOL
In theory, the river should even run "Up Hill" because of tides.  but of course
other factors will keep water moving.
I have been on the river during one of these times when there was NO current.
It was lots of fun like sailing on a lake.

I have no idea what Martin's Slough will be like. I bet you're right. It might
be tricky getting into it.
Why don't you add a couple hours and instead  head down to Walker Island.
Prettier, Quieter and I'm betting there's plenty of depth mid channel to the
pier.
I love Walker Island, It's the best place on the river.

Along that line....
Mark, If you'd like a copy of my "Lower Columbia River Destinations" Let me
know, I can send you a printed copy.
As well, It's on my WEB page  www.315true.com  (Click on the Title below PAGES)
It can be seen at the Cascadia Sailing Group's WEB page   www.sailcascadia.org
as well. Lots of other stuff on the Cascadia  Web site too.
All free.
You can print it if you wish.

I authored the Lower Columbia River Destinations .... to be a complete guide to
Moorages and Anchorages from Portland to the Bar.
Each location is noted by River Miles and Lat/Long. Each with a list of
facilities available and type of moorage.
Each with commentary regarding the spot.

I hope might find some value to it.

Very nice Ralph.  My wife and I are heading down river tuesday for a few days
alone together.  River is aweful low.  I was going to hit Martin Slough, but
I'm woried about the depth if the approach channel.
