I like the nylon. It wouldn't matter as much with the tapadero covering but when I was boarding horses a lady fell off her horse out on the trail and because her girth wasn't snug, the saddle rolled under the horse. It spooked, running through the woods and the aluminum stirrups whacked the crap out of the saddle and horse! She was bruised and sore for several days.
