My hubby got me the aluminum with tapadaros for Christmas. I wanted the nylon ones because they are lighter weight, but we had a hard time finding them. What I like about the aluminum ones now that I have ridden in them is they keep the fenders in the right direction. I have cordura fenders, so they can not be "shaped" like leather, but I went for a lighter weight saddle. I knew I wanted tapaderos because at a ride this past summer we were in heavy brush and the brush either dug my feet deeper in the stirrups or knocked them out of the stirrups.
