i discovered, more or less accidentally, that stjarni ground-ties if you hang your reins over one of his ears. today this was very handy, i rode him back from a trail ride and all the way across the ring, then decided i needed to shut the gate. hung the reins, got off, walked a hundred feet away and did the gate, and he didn't move a foot although he did turn his head to watch me. usually he just follows me around. --vicka
