What did you think of what Christopher said? How about the points I and others made to him and he never addressed? I'm sorry that after all this time, people come on the list stating things like Christopher said...they haven't really learned anything at all, nor do they care too. Judy sent him a great list of links. He says he is more experienced and knowledgeable now but still thinks Icelandics can carry 250 lbs "for hours unaffected"? Why did his untrained 4 year old have such severe trust issues that a breeder recommended he be euthanized? Shouldn't you as a breeder correct or question some of his statements (it can be done gently)...unless you agree with him? You don't say anything about posts like his but only have something to say about those who do question Christopher's post. Even if a post is harsh, it sounds like he's a big boy and can take it...he wasn't exactly sweet-talking Karen in his first post. Questions are always good and trainers/breeders who welcome questions are like gold. I was told the types of things Christopher mentioned when I bought my first Icelandic just three years ago. I have spent the last 9 months looking for another Icelandic and asking questions and reading what breeders say and the types of training, etc. they support before I bought my second Icelandic. The care that Karen takes in her horses and her gentle training techniques are to be highly commended. It is not a one-size-fits-all type of training and she is right there when her trainer is working with horses...not sending them off to who knows where and not knowing what is being done to their horse. It might not come across in her posts but she is warm, soft-spoken, generous and is always there to help. I'd rather buy from a breeder who has studied and learned about these things and does not mind being questioned and who will always be there to offer support. I came to this list because I was looking for something else and although I didn't have the knowledge, my instincts told me not to accept things blindly. Trish
