not down here! People down here make them homemade out of old bicycles and red ryder wagons. And nobody makes fun of them at all. On one big ride I went on recently a guy had the back end of a toyota pickup cut off and rigged up and pulled by a team of belgiums... and my friend Joey, he is american indian and (I dont know why i mention that except that is the coolest thing about him, that he is not only indian but has waist length glossy brown hair prettier than any womans and wears eagle feathers on his saddle and rides a big old appaloosa mare) anyway, joey makes carts for people for a hundred bucks each plus you provide the materials. he makes them out of pine and they are all varnished etc. They are really just small wagons and the most expensive thing are the wheels. my friend sylvia just had one made by Joey and I am supposed to go over and help her teach her mare Bob to pull it. Which is gonna be fun since neither one of us know jack about driving. I told her that and she is tracking down this 90 year old menonite man who lives around here who is supposed to be a driving expert so we are gonna go to his house and learn how to hook up her cart... pray for me. bob is cantankerous. but not spooky!
