have you tried riding him bareback? this isn't a permanent solution (i think it overstresses the spine, not to mention the rider's crotch :) but it is *very* pleasant for walking and tolting on a nice warm icelandic in the winter, and a terrific way to feel your balance and your mount's footfalls through your seat. cheers, --vicka
