just do the best you can and yes, take him for long walks in the
neighborhood like a dog! will help boredom! he will love it, plus
desensitizes. I did that to stonewall as a youngster. We came up on
a operating bulldozer once and the operator let us get close and he
operated the bucket and all til stonewall was ok with it. Also a
roaring huge bonfire another time. Ironically, on trail rides we have
come around a corner in the woods and found in the middle of the trail
a utility company caterpillar just parked in the trail and the horses
all just freaked out but stonewall, he was like "What, what?!" so I
just feel if i could somehow get him over his excitement on huge
rides...I found something interesting today about this! I will post
separately... but it says if a horse sweats a lot he can get depleted
of alkaloids and be spooky?? Would explain why the day AFTER the
field trial he was a wreck... during the field trial i think he was
excited and immature and felt threatened...
