I don't know the full story but my instructor told me about a woman at our boarding barn, another one of his students, who was having confidence problems during dressage shows last summer. Her, usually laid back, Friesan started bucking and acting out and she was crying saying she couldn't ride anymore, etc....not sure what caused all this, but my instructor said that after 4 sessions of hypnosis thereapy she worked through her fear issues. I've seen her riding since and you'd never know she went through this. Of course, always being curious, I did some online research and found that hypnosis therapy is used to help allieviate migraine and other pain, as well as help with posture, sports, etc etc etc. Interesting.
